Breeding Sucess .....

Adult Greenfinch feeding juvenile this morning on a branch next to my feeding station in the middle of Bathpool. These are the first Greenfinches that I have seen for some time. Also hoards of Blue Tits and Long Tailed Tits along with occasional Coal and Great tits plus fair numbers of House Sparrows, Chaffinches, Robins, Dunnocks and Blackbirds. A pair of Jays have successfully raised a brood in the adjoining leylandii trees and juvenile magpies are regularly visiting the feeding station. A local Sparrowhawk makes regular hunting runs along the line of Allens Brook which passes no more than ten yards from the feeding station.

Best Wishes,
Bill.

Re: Breeding Sucess .....

In the Coleford area I think that one of the successes of the current breeding season has been the return to the Countryside of many pairs of Greenfinches.
