Red Kites etc

Just over a week ago ,(10 JULY),first one then later two Kites together spent an afternoon hanging around some fields at Isle Brewers - didn't post at the time just in case they were a breeding pair but as they weren't seen before nor since that date guess they weren't. Same day as several others were reported on the website South and East of this area.
Brown-backed Hobby over garden yesterday and young Raven.

Re: Red Kites etc

Great records Cookie!

Well done for keeping them under wraps until you'd had a chance to confirm that the birds were just passing through.

With well over 3,000 pairs of Red Kites in Britain now, it must only be a matter of time before we see this species return to breed regularly Somerset.

Good birding,
