Re: 故友、故居 - 李碧華

Hello AMUIFANS:

Thank you very much for the posting.
========================================================================
Below is Brief Translation for non-Chinese reading Mui-fans:

The article posted is written by the writer of the original "Rouge" novel, Bik-Wah Lee.
She wrote that one of Mui's properties was recently put out for auction,
(an apartment unit in Happy Valley).
The bidding price went up to $10,400,000 HKD but the deal never came through and the property was taken off from the list of auction items because that price was under the base price of the unit.

Then the author switched over to write about the property where Anita used to live on Shouson Hill Road. She said Anita bought that 4000 square feet unit in 1993 for $20,000,000 ($20 million). After she had lived there for close to 10 years and being vacant for almost 10 years now, the market value is at $130 million HKD, and being managed by the estate management people. (Not sure if estate management is still done by the accounting firm assigned by the Court, or if things have now turned over to HSBC-- the bank originally designated by Anita to be the Trustee.)

Tonight, she misses her--- the person, the songs, and the movies.
She said Anita ( after her passing) had once "asked her" to do something very important.
It was a difficult task and just when she could not figure out how to fulfill Anita's request, all the lights in her house went off one night and she, sitting on her sofa, "communicated" with Anita. She later made some modifications to work around the issue and did manage to complete the task that Anita had asked her to do to the best of her abilities.

This author said there have often been investors , even up till the beginning of this year, who asked her to write scripts about "The Ever Changing Diva". She turned down all of them. She said that she would not write (scripts about her) out of respect for this old friend.

Re: 故友、故居 - 李碧華

Hopefully Li Pik Wa will change her mind soon.
