Irish name.

my George Williscraft, was sometimes known George of Green Lurgan, can anyone tell me why he would have gotten this name??

According to the history of the Church of Ireland Church it is situated in what was once known as the Green of Lurgan. So the term obviously means Church Place. So you are referring to George Williscroft of Church Place Lurgan.
