HUgh Williamson, we think
born 1851 in Lurgan, Co Armagh. His parents were John Williamnson (b circa
1820) and MAry SHiels (also b.1820) woho married in 1850.

JOhn emigrated to WEst Calder in Scotland to work in the shlae mines. He is

recorded on the 1881 census as being 30 years old and living with a widow
(Mary Martin nee Gemmel) with whom he had a son JOhn aged 2. We know they
had another son James 4 years later.
