I'm looking for information on marriages (and subsequent children) between LANGTRY/LANKTREE/LANGTREE and the following, all believed to be in the Lurgan area.

Of Samuel Langtry and Mary HALL or Mary BINGHAM there were the following children (unconfirmed except for John b 1828 or 1830) :-

Thomas b 1812 m Jane GAW or SAW 5/AUG/1833 in Lurgan, dies 1836 California - no known children

Samuel b 1822 d 1822
Samuel b 1824, m Margaret FERGUSON in Liverpool 13/NOV/1848, d in Lurgan, Armagh 23/AUG/1883
John* b 22/MAR/1828 or 1830, m 26/MAY/1847 or 26/MAY/1849 to Margaret McGRATH in Glenarie/Glenarvie(?) near Lurgan?, d 1888 QLD Australia

The problem I have is that I have two different trees showing the same children to Samuel and Mary HALL and to Samuel and Mary BINGHAM...perhaps 2 families mixed? My confirmed line of descent therefore ends at Samuel and Mary HALL.

Any details on any of the above would be greatly appreciated!

I have had passed to me thse names from a relative but they don't seem to fit with the facts, so my tree has stopped dead.

I have extracted a large number of Cordner/Corner civil registrations of marriages (beginning in the mid-1840's.) Since William is such a common name for a father, can you narrow my search for children who lived to mary. Is there a specific townland or unique profession for William?

Sadly not a lot of information on the CORDNER side, I believe they were married on either the 20th or 29th July and the Langtry family was in Lurgan. Mary (Langtry) was born in 1810 and would have assumedly died a CORDNER at some stage, but a lot of the family migrated to Scotland/Australia and the USA in the 1860's -1880s so if she and William went with them then the death could be anywhere.

No known children either I'm afraid.

The death records begin in 1864, but there is no record of a Mary born in 1810 or within 5 years of that date. So the death was not registered, or she did not die in Ireland. Don't forget about Irish migration to the England and Scotland.

I am working on a project to create a pedigree for the entire Cordner/Corner line(s) so let's keep each other in mind as we research on. Please note my email address above.

Am also interested in Cordners. My Simon Cordner emigrated to USA in the 1870s approximately. I have him born 1852 at Summer Island, Derrymain, County Armagh, baptized at Killyman Church, County Tyrone. Family legend had him emigrating from Coalisland, County Tyrone. I have his parents as William Cordner (also born Derrymain) and Susanna McKay.

My grandmother was a daughter of Elizabeth Cordner. Elizabths parents were Henry Cordner and Elizabeth jane Wright
Elizabeth married Andrew Geddis, Lurgan, 10/22/1862. They came to Amsterdam NY late 1880's.Had several children. My grandmother Anne was bornnn1882, Ballygargin. She later married Samuel Thompson of Ballydugan. They attended St Mathias Church of Ireland when children

I see on you have McGraths in your family tree.
You wouldn,t have a George in there would you?
I am looking for descendaants of my ggfather George McGrath, born abt 1843.
Married my ggmother RoseMary McCleary 1861 in my hometown Newburgh New York.
Found one George McGrath in griffiths valuation, living in Lurgan on castle lane 1864.This wouldn,t have been my ggfather as he was killed in the civil war here in the USA in July of 1864.
Don,t know what his religion was, but my father was Presbyterian.
Let me know if this makes any sense.

Sorry, no, I don't know the parents or siblings in that line. I believe the marriage was in Glenavy (written as Glenavie on the d cert) and have written to the parish church there but no response as yet.

I have found Binghams in Lurgan from an old directory. They were Shoemakers which is the line my great great grandparents were in. Next time I have access to the directory I'll see who the proprietor was.

I'll let you know if I find out anything about her parents from the curch records.
