School vs Club Conflicts
I was wondering as we approach the School Season what are your coach's looking at for non-School Play for tournaments like the Polar Bears. On our School team there are varied reports of club teams not going due to some other schools not allowing them to go, practice games etc. Our school they do not schedule that week any hockey activities. Last year as well there were some conflicts where some girls were ASKED to play club rather than school during the year, not sure what they told the school coach. Just looking for actual experience not bashing.. |

My daughter has had at least one conflict between HS and PBear every year. HS has to take priority as the MIAA has penalties for missing school events.Often ir results in playing a HS game and then heading to PB . The MIAA and HS coaches need to realize that for many HS players, these tournaments are their best hope of exposure to colege. There are some very good players in non prep schools and this is their chance to shine. It is unfortunate that some girls are forced to miss the PB tournament(or part thereof) for this reason. It would be great if the MIAA could have a break from games for even the first three days of PB |
