Legacy of the black farmers

I grew up in NYC but since I was a child every summer my family went to South Carolina to put in work on my families farm. We had every vegetable known to man, our own orchards, We didn't have to rely on Supermarkets. My grandfather worked hard to build a legacy for his 5 children. Most was not interested in farming so that filled a void on who was going to be the next generation of farmers. We are at a cross road as is many black farmers in the area because none of the younger generation do not want to pick up where our granparents left off. It is a sad state because now you do see other people getting it and buying our land. They see that now is the time for farmers. Gas is getting very high and there is a great need for LOCAL farmers. People even pay to work on farms so they can start there own farm. We are always on this quick fix for money. We will sell ourselves to the devil and still have nothing to show for in the end. Pray for me and the next generation that we don't lose the legacy our fore-fathers have built.
