Encouraging Teens To Be Responsible & Follow-up
I have a question. What can I do to encourage my pregnant and parenting teens to follow up with home visit appointments and show up for group meetings?

My first thought is, get the teens' parents involved in the scheduling. When events are held at 6pm or earlier, it's mighty hard for us parents to get our teens to those meetings, if we work.
Also, the time-proven adage: Feed them, and they will come. :-)

Thanks so much for your response. Refreshments are served at my group meetings and they are held at school (during school hours), once a month, for 1 hour. I've asked their opinions on the topics to discuss or what community professional they would be interested in, but they are just so "slack" about showing up. Oh yea, I give door prizes too:)
Thanks & Be Blessed

Re: Encouraging Teens To Be Responsible & Follow-up
Hi Jackie,
Is your program affiliated with the school in some way. Is there some way their attendance could be tied to getting some credit or...if they attend they would receive some incentive after the fact. Having guest speakers from all walks of life is interesting also. I'm sure you have probably tried that though.
Let me know how it goes.
