Wave Jackson's Laughter in the Hills Tribute

We're off on the 20th June to Wave Jackson's Laughter in the Hills Tribute weekend.

Wave had a few songs recorded by Slim Dusty over the years and it's fifty years since Slim recorded Wave's first song.

Sounds like it's going to be a great weekend.

I wrote a tribute to the old mate called The Maintop Balladeer which won the 2006 TSA Lyrics Only Section in their National Country Music Song writing awards
and have been asked to open the show.

We will be calling in at Cania Gorge [Near Monto] to do a show there on the Thursday night and then going on to Injune on the Friday.

You can read more about Wave at http://users.tpg.com.au/thegrey/Jackson.htm

Re: Wave Jackson's Laughter in the Hills Tribute

What a great weekend we had out at Injune. Old weather was a bit chilly for a couple of days but the Saturday and Sunday weren't bad.

We performed our show over at Cania Gorge on the Thursday night to a good crowd, but man it was cold. Great spot over there with a large covered area and fireplace.

Quite a few of us camped out at the racecourse and I think the town population doubled with visitors.

The tribute show attracted the biggest crowd the town hall has ever seen and it was a great night all round. I had the pirviledge of opening the show with my Rodeo poem and the song I wrote as a tribute to Wave. The Maintop Balladeer.

Played social bowls on the Sunday and a few of us entertained at the club house that night.

Started raining Monday morning and never stopped until we arrived home Tuesday afternoon.
