Last Tuesday Nov 6 OLbaldy and I jumped up to 3500 ft and caught a 35mpr southerly wind and flew to KY Dam Stare Park with an average air speed @ 100mpr. A little hairy landing in Vandalia for fuel. I spent the night with my brother Floyd. We left at first light Wednesday Fueling in Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, And stopping in Sikeston MO for lunch. Laweries Cafe (home of the throwed roll) sent a van to pick us up. What a meal!!! Got back to KY Dam before sundown. "A perfect day". We left at first light Thursday and fueled in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama arriving back at KY a little after sunset ( a headwind we didn't plan on for the last 100 miles). "Another perfect day". Friday we slept in, went fishing, and took Floyds neighbor a ride. It looked like the weather was going to turn nasty so I packed up and left before sunup Saturday flying up through Indiana and across IL to arrive home by 2:30. "a perfect trip!!!" A good GPS sure helps your dead reckoning confidence.
