Hey Bob,
Good job on catching the throttle problem. Just a quick question tho'. The correct setup for the throttle should be with the slotted screw head on the seat side of the the lever and the rod threaded through the hole (again on the seat side of the lever) with a plastic washer between the rod and the lever(it doesn't hurt to put a little bend in the rod after it has passed through the hole.. so it can't slip out). Were any factors involed such as a bend at the point of break, vibration, flexing of the rod during operation (like when you break a wire by folding and unfolding it. This could happen if the rear throttle quadrant is stiff to operate), correct alignment of the throttle lever and how was it hard to see (were there any obstructions)? Is the rod a standard factory rod ? I'm interested because if someone phones me up at the factory with the same, then there might be a problem that we don't know about .. ! It kinda worries me as I know of an incident where the rod attached to the rear throttle quadrant did separate and the pilot had no throttle control fron the front seat..
You are very welcome to reply via email or just call QCU..
Any hoo.. fly safe mate and hope to see you around sometime soon.. Are you going to Oshkosh ?
