Reasons why I believe Ethiopians are coward!

Ethiopians can be anything; brave, you are not!

I was taught again and again that Ethiopia is the birth place of Patriotism. I heard again and again that Ethiopians are all heroes. I used to believe that it was true. But now I came to realize that you rather are excessively coward!

If this wasn't true how can TPLF who is hated by 99% of Ethiopians rule the country for 16 years without any major challenge? You may argue that there was a big challenge during the last election. But I wouldn't say it was a real challenge. You were shouting, dancing, insulting and what have you when things were okay but when the going started to get tough all of you left your leaders in the middle of the fire and slept in your sweet homes.

You came out and shouted in hundreds of thousands in Meskel Square when things were peace but none of came back to fight when your leaders were put in chains and placed in the maximum security prison. So, where is the patriotism then? Is it only when you are not hurt that it exists?

Don’t tell me that shouting in Western streets and posting insults on the web blogs is a manifestation of your patriotism. These are the hiding places of cowards. We know what it takes to be a hero!

Actually, there is one major exception to my generalization above. TPLF and their supporters, they are bad in their own right but cowards, they are not. If they were cowards like most of you guys, they could hardly keep 77 million opposing men and women under their full control for so many years. These people are determined for their cause, whatever it might be, and they are ready to die for it. Remember, they lost more than 60,000 to demolish the largest army in the black Africa and they still have many more who are ready die for any cause TPLF picks up.

Given their determination and your cowardice it is not unreasonable to expect TPLF to stay on power for a few more decades unless it disintegrates within itself. I’m sorry to say this but you guys are ‘Buken’ to borrow Mengistu’s term for excessive cowardice.

I completely agree with you.We Ethiopians are not ready to die for our rights apparently due to our cowardice and lack of love to our people.We want others to die for us.That is sad.One who is not prepared to die for his rights will never have rights.That is the jungle law,which has become the norm in this era.

Your point is well taken, but don't forget that fighting should not always be with guns and weapons. Actually, on May 15th, 2005, Ethiopians showed Woyane that all the 30 or so years it spent in th bushes and in Addis mean nothing to Ethiopians who unequivocally told it that it has to go back to Dedebit. Just in one day, they brought to naught Woyane and Shabiya's efforts to divide us for several decades. What you see in Asmara and Addis is two angry dogs, dogs angry for not being able to win people's hearts.

Now Woyane is like an oak tree whose roots are rotten and any slight push will do the job. But, short of a push from among its own ranks, immediate results may not be feasible. But the groundwork has been laid down. Woyane has effectively been ostracised and all the actions it is taking is the result of either anger or to create a confusion. Ethiopians have once and for all spitted these thugs out. That you don't see an immediate change at the helm should not be a grounds for despair. Soldier on, lady, and with the right combination, we should throw the thugs from our shoulders sooner than you predicted!!

Keep up the spirit of support for Kinijit and some of UEDF members (not the likes of Kehdetu Ayalew0.

What you needed to ask was, are these AEUP/CUD the only ethiopians as they say or the TPLF are also ethiopians as proven on the ground. How come you used 77 million, does it mean you excluded from ethiopians only Tigray as the AAPO people do.

well then you should have asked what is the percentage of AAPO people then. That would have shown you that ethiopians are neither cowards or letargic or easy going.
When unhappy the somali alone or Gojjam alone or just Tembien or Bale alone are enough to make circles around any government.

At the same time our elected leaders and other innocent Ethiopians are languishing in dangeons and being tortured on daily basis. Where is the concience and the united leadership that is able to move 77 million people against an insignificant tiny minority of dictatorial despots being condemned all over the world. It is big shame to be ruled by such brutal minority despots during this 21st century of ours.

On the other hand, some of these swan singers are also Wayyane paid cadres who are out to defend tirrany and destroy democracy while dividing and killing the selfish opposition leaderships.
cadres are the one's who often bray, haul and saying,
,"this one is not an Ethiopian, that one is Shabbia," because dividing and ruling is their active every day task. But in reality it is them who brought Shabbia to power and provided them with all the necessary human and material resources to be strong and challenge any one.

So, let the opposition leadership put aside their petty enviouseness, stop bickering and listening to Wayyane cadres and start firm unity inorder to seriousely put 77 million people on the move to free themselves from the grip of the tiny minority brutal dictatorship that is shame for Ethiopia, the Horn of Africa, African continent and the entire world as a whole.

Thank you for sharing my feelings.The only part of your reaction that I've some doubt about is the spirit of your repeated use of the phrase 'tiny minority' which I presume refers to the Tigrayans rather than the TPLF's. I have enormous respect for the people of Tigray and I have never intended to mean that the rest of Ethiopians should start fighting them. The reason why I have 99% of Ethiopians on the opposing side of the spectrum is simply because I included the majority of the Tigrayans with fellow Ethiopians. I didn't also mean that all the people who have picked TPLF's cause are Tigrayans. I know that there hundreds of thousands from OROMO, Amhara, and all the other ethnic groups in the nation.So, we have to be a little careful so as not to alienate the great people of Tigray.

Honstly speaking Senait is absolutely right and we need to think about this seriously. Personally I came to the conclusion (long time ago) that IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO TAKE WOYANE FROM POWER PEACEFULLY. During the may 2005 "election" the CUD leaders and supporters hoped to kick Meles from office by popular vote. It was an impossible task and I was laughing at some of my CUD friends.

You should fight. Or else choose to perish. No other alternative. Not with Woyane.

So you think TPLF will die on its own? So are you telling me that Dergue would have gone on its own anyway? Well, you are entitled to your opinion but the truth is, TPLF, Shabia, later joined by APDM and OPDO destroyed the Dergue. There is no doubt about that. It is not a matter of giving credit to TPLF but it is telling history as it was. Keeping on denying the facts won't take you anywhere. I'm not saying that their arrival was a blessing for Ethiopia. At least Dergue would have tried to object when this historic nation was deprived of its sea outlets. The issue is now how move forward.

Remember, the most important principle to defeat an enemy is first understand and accept what it really is. To be able to pose a real challenge to your enemy, you have to be able attack both its strong and weak sides. For 16 years the challenge has focused on trying to exploit their weakest side which is lack of ideas. But they faced no real challenge form the side where they have had comparative advantage which is Military. If you don't accept that they have relative military strength then you will not be able to do anything more than what you are doing right now. That has been tried over so many years but didnot produce any results. You need to change the course!

What you commented in connection with my comment goes even without saying, and I have never intended to mean that all the other Ethiopians need to gang up to fight the Tigrian minority. I mean by minority the TPLF, the one and the only single group that holds unilateral dictatorial power in Ethiopia.

But please don't tell me again that all the other PDOS associated with the TPLF, forming the EPRDF also hold and excercise power too. That EPRDF is only TPLF's camouflage meant to hide itself from its dictatorial crimes.

By the way, did you happen to read a book, " Hitler's willing excutioners," by Daniel Jonah Goldhagen?

Yes we have been "grossly coward" which means our net result shows we have been on the coward side in general. But, that [cowardice] may or may not include me (for you don't know me). May or may not include Senait for you don't know her (I guess so). Don't forget that there are many brave Ethiopians who are still fighting, some of them even gave their lives already. Are they coward too? Is student Jaagamaa Badhane of Ambo coward too? (He was killed in front of his school when opposing Woyane). Is Hailu Shawl coward too? etc. I don't think so.

U did a big mistake, Ethiopians are not cowards. The loss of moral is a very big isue when u come to a socity. Almost all people in the world passed in this way of life the only difference is time. any way leave the rest of the world and come to ethiopia, the people are not cowards, please dont use it any more, but as a matter of chance they got a very bad regim after their upraise. Through time they lost their moral. Los of moral is not being coward instead feeling hopless. If u take a very simple example in 1992 E.C Addis Abeba youths faought with armed police for one day. They were shoot down on the street. But the matter is wheather u die or not u will not get any thing. no outcome in any direction results loss of moral. There is no one who can organise us, we ourselves also dont try to organise. Do u know why, we saw a lot of organisations disintegrated by greedy and power thirsty members. I can list the current ones, if u want.

So please dont by pass the real problem of loss of moral and give a false name to the strong and .... nation that i belong.

The Germans underestimated the Romans in ancient times and it took them ages to bring about the end of the Roman Empire.
