Wicca: Who Needs It?
Right on! Who really needs Wicca? I think that any thinking person will eventually come to the conclusion that ANY group that can't handle criticism should be treated with the utmost suspicion. I have found that Wiccans try to hide everything bad about themselves such as censorship and intolerance and a tendency toward fanaticism. The more experience I have with the neo pagan community the more I know what a distraction they are from the real issues that we should be dealing with. We are urban people who live in urban settings. It's pointless to look to the past for spirituality. What we need are people with the courage to create a new spirituality for people who live in the present. We shouldn't be stealing religion from other cultures. We shouldn't be trying to reform Christianity to make it more palatable. We should look for spirituality in transforming the world we live in right now and making it more just. Wicca just distracts us from doing this difficult work. You make some very good points. Clearly, the world would be better off without Wicca.

AMEN! Wicca is stupid and a lot of **** they do ****** off Native Americans. Somebody needs to knock these self-righteous fools off their pedastal. We need to stop this illegal war and take back our nation from the neo-cons! We don't have time for this ****!

Yeah, Yeah Yeah I think Wicca "jumped the shark" for most progressive folks when Wal-Mart decided to start selling books on Wicca and there was no outrage from the Wiccans! No protest about how their precious religion was marketed and *******ized by the evil Wal-Mar. That tells you a lot about the true character of those self-righteous biddies. I couldn't agree more with what has been said here and it's been said very well. What a contrast to the WiKKKanz who post here! I wouldn't hate WiKKKanz so much if they would put all the effort they put into supressing free speech into actually DOING something to save the environment. They profess to love "Mother Earth" so much, but I don't see them putting any effort into protecting her. They spend all their time and energy protecting their own well deserved reputation for hypocrysy, lack of tolerance and fluffiness. I might point out that these are the very same things they hate Xians for. If they must spend all their time online, they could at least try to organize online petitions, boycotts, campaigns to contact elected officials. Xians at least were able to organize around the civil rights movement in the late 60s- WiKKKanz are incapable or organizing for the greater good. Where were the WiKKKanz when King was marching? Where were the WiKKKanz after Katrina? Instead of casting worthless spells and directing verbal abuse at free thinkers (see the latest post from the functionally illiterate WiKKKanz) if WiKKKanz would organize even ONE rational protest against the pollution that big corporations engage in, my opinion of them might be raised. After all, it can only go up.

What this is is not criticism. It is a hate site. And no one likes to have hate flung at them. But you may be right - I think Wiccans should just suck up and take it, especially the KKK comparison. That adds a special touch!! You all are becoming more misinformative than the misinformation you are claiming to hate. That's called a hypocrite ladies and gents! ***Legal Note*** I'm not Wiccan. I just get a kick out of bothering haters. Weeeeeeeell! It's just so nice to see all the haters gathered in one spot! Now stay here and leave the rest of us alone!! There is a connective knot that seems to bind you all. "I hate stupid people or people that spew stupid or false info." Very well. I have over a hundred fifty IQ I guess that give me the right to hate most people here if not all!!!!
