Are Crocs Okay for People Allergic to PTBP-FR?

I recently received an email from a lady allergic to PTBP-FR who believes that a recent allergic reaction on her feet may be due to wearing Crocs.

I have emailed Crocs twice to ask whether they use PTBP-FR in their shoes, but have not received a reply.

Has anyone else had an allergic reaction to Crocs? Alternatively, has anyone with allergies to PTBP-FR found Crocs to be okay?

Best regards,

Re: Are Crocs Okay for People Allergic to PTBP-FR?

I have just started wearing crocs, wore them all day for the first time last Sunday and developed a blistery rash my doctor says is dyshidrosis. It's like the worst case of poison ivy I've ever had. Anybody else had a reaction?

Re: Are Crocs Okay for People Allergic to PTBP-FR?

I seem to be allergic to Crocs too. I got my first ones about a year ago and started having a strange cayenne powder looking rash on the tops of my feet. If I scratched them (they itched when I got hot, and in Georgia it gets plenty hot), tiny little blisters formed. This was annoying but not horrible, but now in the last few months, the blistering has gotten very bad. The blisters form and scratching only bursts the skin and they "weep" for a while, then they dry up and form scales. When I get hot they itch unbelievably. Then the scratching resumes. (Sorry, gross, but there it is) Sometimes my feet itch so bad I have to soak them in the middle of the night, just so I can sleep. This happened last night, so today I Goggled "allergic to crocs" and stumbled upon this site. My skin has always been sensitive, but this is new. In the past, I have reacted to the nickle in the snap on my jeans, my earrings for pierced ears, mosquito bites, the glue on the patches put on my abdomen after my laproscopic surgery in February, and cracking, itching and bleeding heels. After reading this and other sites, I will have the patch test done to see what I'm sensitive to. Be careful of the Crocs, if you are having problems. Thanks, Linda

Re: Are Crocs Okay for People Allergic to PTBP-FR?

I have been diagnosed with contact dermatitis and had patch testing with postives to Formaldehyde, Colophony, Potassium Dichromate!

Crocs have been ok so far for me but wearing socks with them at all times!

Thanks for the info though because of my sensitive skin I think I will for sure rule out bare feet in Crocs for summer ! Thanks for the info!
